Hi Greenman, You mean conflicting information about Band4 AWS (1700/2100 ) UMTS ?

So in essence going by the Samsung website itself and knowing the T mobile USA bands the closet match would be the SM-T819Y listed above I believe.

Then again, I would also need to identify if said "Y" variant has phone dialer from seller ( mission itself ) or even the fact that the "Y" version of the 819 does not have other variants. haha, so much to do. Trouble is, Ive noticed since tablets dont seem to be too popular judging by the lack of information even on the hardcore xda forums as such.

    EDIT
Just noticed its been listed on one of sammys websites , same bands as the 819Y model ..

No, I was referring to the Frequency Check site which I have found to be accurate in the past.

The Frequency Check site indicates that the TMobile:
Band 4 (1700/2100 AWS) LTE is OK.

Band 2 (1900) & Band 12 (700) are given as 'not supported by device' listing.

But your research gives Band 2 as a supported frequency on the T819Y

To be 100% certain of compatibility you would have to buy the TMobile Tab S2

Mmmm, Im obviously not looking at this right. I just clicked your link to frequencycheck... snipped a few paragraphs.

    UMTS

Compatibility - 1 out of 2 bands supported
    50%
    Interface Name Supported by device?
    UMTS B2 (1900 PCS) Yes
    UMTS B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1) No

Above band 4 UMTS it states NO whereby Samsung website for the tablet states YES model 819Y.

    LTE

Compatibility - 1 out of 3 bands supported
    34%
    Interface Name Supported by device?
    LTE B2 (1900 PCS) No
    LTE B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1) Yes
    LTE B12 (700 ac) No

Above LTE band Samsung claims on all their SM-T819 that band 2 and 4 it does have.

Here is the specs as what the manufacturer is stating:

The T mobile SM-T818T has the dialer disabled, and cannot be enabled via any means thus far, nor on the 2015 version of the Sm2 T817T. But albeit yes, all bands present.

    It is indeed unclear.
One or the other is giving wrong information.

Not an easy task which is why I suggested getting a TMobile S2.

Again from Frequency Check (and so may have wrong data, but thought this table may help.

on the left is the TMobile Tab S2 and so we know is compatible.

And yet,in user reviews it gets a score of 3.8 for 'caller quality'

    What is that all about?

I got no idea, but I can assure you 100% without a shadow of doubt that the network branded versions here in USA cannot place voice calls like a cellphone. Nor can they be modified to so far. Just goes to show the old term " Google it" doesnt net accuracy.

" Google it" doesnt net accuracy."

How very true, but you would hope that users on the TMobile S2 Review site would leave the 'caller quality' blank, rather than giving a score for something the Tab cannot perform.
