The update would have been a security and stability update, which in itself should not have caused any major change.
Have you tried removing and re-installing your email from Mercedes command, as it looks like a conflict.
You could also try going into Recovery Mode and wipe cache then try again.
If still a problem then go back into Recovery Mode and wipe data/factory reset or reinstall your firmware with SmartSwitch:

    Dear Greenman
I am from India and have a Galaxy S6.
I updated my firmware a few days ago. It was just a 45MB update so I guessed it should be only a security update.
When completed the update, I received an error message that the update was not successful. However when attempting the update again, it says that I have the latest updates.
Sammobile's Firmware page shows an update for India as:
    21-09-2016 PDA:G920IDVU3EPHA and CSC: G920IODD3EPH1
    My phone has :
    AP: G920IDVS3EPIE
    CP:G920IDVU3EPH4
    CSC:G920IODD3EPH1

Has something gone wrong during the update ?

The update would appear to have installed.
If you have any problems then use SmartSwitch to reinstall your firmware.

Wait a few days, as the OTA may not be available on the Samsung servers at the moment.

    Either:
    1. There is no update for your csc code
    2. Your firmware is more than one update behind.

For both of these you can connect to SmartSwitch as in post #3 here.

Can I downgrade from 6.0.1 to my original firmware version 5.1.1?

You can try, but Odin will probably fail at s.boot.

Marshmallow brings with it a higher security in the bootloader that prevents downgrade.

Too bad. I find Marshmallow more power hungry and I'm not getting the September security update in the OTA while it's in the sammobile page already.. I have PAK firmware with Aug security patch level
