Bought system board online for $30, replaced the original (actually is not that difficult) motherboard and phone is working again first time turned it back on.
The Note 2 is probably the last of the easier to work on Samsung phones.
But great job and what a bargain for the motherboard.

The blue bar shows the progress of the firmware being installed.
If it stops ( 20 minutes is long enough to wait) then reset Odin and reflash the firmware.

When powered, see if Kies will install the firmware.

Did you start Odin in Admin mode (right click mouse when selecting Odin)

Hello. I had exactly the same screen displayed as the original post, on my note 4. I've tried to flash through Odin and smart switch and each time fails. Is my phone now just a paperweight 😞

The XmitData_Write error is usually after using a non original quality USB cable.
A thinner USB charging cable is no good as it cannot transmit the data.

    So check your USB first.
