[SM-N9005] Question re Using an ODIN Update with a different Country ROM

I am wanting to upgrade to 4.4.2 and I know I will be waiting for ever as Vodafone have not even started testing for the upgrade in New Zealand.

What can go wrong if I use an image from another country. I remember reading somewhere about 4.4.2 needing to be activated in the home region. So if I update with the Poland image (which I have) and update via ODIN am I going to break my phone by not being able to activate.

    Are there any other catches.

    Regards

Many - just don't do it.

    1. The Note 3 has Knox security enabled firmware.
Trigger this and you will not be able to install future Knox enabled firmware.
    2. The Note 3 has a region lock.
Install a firmware out of the region and Knox is triggered.
    3. If a network Note3,tgen it would have to be unlocked before installing a non network firmware.

Sounds like a lot of risk for a very expensive phone.
