My device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies

Dear Seniors / Firmware Support,

I have a problem updating my Samsung Galaxy S Advance to JB, as i have updated to JB once using Odin, but it was not installed completely, then i went to samsung store where they have installed 2.3.6 ginger beard only. when I asked them I have been told that my phone is not supporting to upgrade to JB, but one of my friend got the same phone he is able to update it from kies, wherein my device is not supporting and when I connected to Kies it says "Your Device's Current Firmware not supported to update via Kies" , then I asked the same to customer support they have told me that your's is INS model which we cannot update it. What is INS & INU says. please find the following details of my phone. kindly help.

Note: Once I upgraded my phone through Odin, but was not successful then I downgraded through samsung store.

First of all, Samsung recommend that you update with Kies.

Ok, let's look at Kies first.
Your phone has 2 codes that have to match for Kies to update.
1. Product Code - this is the country/network your phone was sold in (as you point out India has 2 codes INU & INS)
2. The firmware CSC code.

To find both of these codes you can install CheckFUS from the Play Store.

Additionally, Kies will only update if you are one firmware behind.

If you are happy to update your phone without Kies, then ignore the information above.
Now, download an i9070JB JB firmware from any country you choose and install with Odin.

I updated it once from odin, but it could not work properly, request you to give me the step by step process to update via kies, because I am not a techie.

That helps a lot.
Your Product Code ends with Ser.
SER is for Russia.
The firmware that should be on your phone for Kies to update is here :

Now, you have to choose.
In order of difficulty - easiest first.
1. Do you want to install SER JB firmware?
If you do, then Kies will update in future.

2. Do you want to install a firmware for your country?
If you do, Kies will not update, but you can continue to update with Odin.

3. Do you want to change your Product Code to match your firmware country code?
This will allow Kies to update, but is a more difficult process as you have to root your phone. Rooting will also void your Warranty (although possible to unroot or hide root)

Install procedure :
1. Download the firmware to your PC and Unzip once to get a tar file.

No problem.
Now go into Recovery Mode and Clear cache then Clear data.

To get into Recovery Mode,
Press and hold Volume up + Home button + Power Button at the same time.
