Things have changed, and my conspiracy theory is that UK networks have put collective pressure on Samsung UK to ensure they (the networks) get the updated firmware before 'open' phones.
Common sense tells us that the 'open' firmware is ready, and indeed released to the networks. They have now added and modified to make it suitable for their customers.
In my theory, it means that BTU 'open ' firmware will be released once all networks have completed their customer updates.

May be wrong, but it was a similar delay with the S3 updates.

    Understand your frustration.
You can always install firmware from another country, but reckon the BTU release is imminent.

My previous posts answer some of your questions.
With regards to updates, then installing the Germany firmware will prevent you getting OTA and Kies updates until you change your Product Code to match.
Changing Product Code from BTU to DBT is possible, but requires you to root your phone.

The alternative is that you continue updating with Odin - installing the BTU update, when it arrives may get your updates back (if installing the DBT firmware doesn't change your Product Code - it often changes to factory KOR)

Thank you for your reply. I think I'm going have to wait for OTA updates that all sounds abit too complicated for me.

If you update using Odin, and forget Kies, it's pretty straightforward.
Kies is not worth fitting into the equation.
But I agree. Leave your phone as it is. An update is on the way - not that you will notice much difference, apart from the long awaited ability to send apps2sd.

I have seen youtube videos which suggest that the new firmware fixes the overheating issues (the main reason I'm craving the new update) Is this true? The normal temperature my phone is generally at is 31-36c, when im browsing it can go upto 41-43c and gaming can take it up to 50c!..are these temperature expectable??

No, they are not acceptable and could cause long term damage, but are a consequence of more power and poor heat dissipation due to ever thinner phones.
But overheating can also be caused by firmware conflicts.
Have you had any updates, and if so, did you go into Recovery Mode and Clear Cache and Data.
This is recommended after any update (OTA, Kies or Odin)

Heres what the software update will have to offer, at least according to Sam Mobile:

    New Camera firmware
Smearing issue has been fixed (Purple effect while scrolling)
    Smart Pause Toggle
    Move Apps to SD Card
HDR Video (Can record HDR video)
    Semi-transparent status bar
    New Icons in Settings
    Secure boot status (About Phone)
    Increase legibility (Display) (New feature)
