Hi all,
I have S6 edge 925F with XSG csc. I was wondering if I can flash the XEU on my device and would it cause any issues? Also, would it change my csc? If does, how do I get back my old csc? Please help me...:o

You can flash another country firmware if your phone is not locked to a network.Quote:
The UK BTU would be a better firmware to install as it is a single CSC and your phone would have a BTU code.
With XEU firmware you have a multi csc and therefore your phone could have any CSC available within the firmware.
This would be the problem if you wanted to come back to XSG.
XSG is also a multi csc firmware and so you could end up with a csc code for any Middle East or African country.
Thanks for the feedback. I don't have a locked device. But just wanted to know if I flash the XEU firmware would it change my csc? If so how do I go back to my old csc? Lastly would flashing this firmware screw up my IMEI?
Look forward to your response
Thought I had explained this, so to keep it simple.YesQuote:
But just wanted to know if I flash the XEU firmware would it change my csc?
You cannot without using a PIT file or rooting.Quote:

No.Quote:

Okie dokie. All clear. Another quick one...If I flash back the xsg CSC via odin would I get back my old CSC? Also does flashing the xeu CSC mean that the phone may choose aanother CSC other than xeu since you mentioned xeu is multicsc
Already answered in post #2.
Hello greenman, if I flash the XEU firmware I would get another csc than XEU?
Thx greenman, it is better if I waiting for OTA update :) The marshmallow update is coming in this year?
Marshmallow update for the S6 is predicted before the end of the year.Quote:
But you know Samsung!!!
Yeah I know, Samsung is really slow with updates :(
I have UK BTU but showing Multi CSC? Why? Any solution for going Single CSC?
Have you fully converted to BTU?Quote:
Does your Product Code end with BTU?
If not, put your phone into Recovery mode and wipe cache then wipe data/ factory reset.
I did numbers of Eipe Cache from Recovery, but everytime shows Multi CSC applied!!!Quote:
Previously I've used BTU with Multi CSC, now VIR also with Multi CSC....Quote:
Having a multi CSC is not a problem.Quote:
Most of Samsung firmware is multi CSC.
The only problem is when you try to get a specific CSC code.
If you are coming from a CSC code that is not in the multi CSC firmware then Android will set the default CSC code.
To get around this you can flash the firmware with the correct PIT file or root your phone and try the Samsung CSC changer app from the Play Store.
Hi just bought s6 edge on vodafone uk, firmware ver.5.1.1 G925FXXU3QOKN is there any chance to get it debranded.I was think to flash BTU one G925FXXU3COI9.is that safe and csc will be changed to BTU.I see lot debrand was done with firmware change from 5.0.2 to 5.1.1. is that thesame story 5.1-5.1
That will be no problem - apart from the Vodafone unlock if you are planning on using a non- vodafone sim card.
Best unlock is from Vodafone themselves and depending whetre you are on the contract they may do it for free.
The process is;
1. Unlock your phone.
2. Install your chosen firmware (BTU) with Odin.
3. Put phone into Recovery Mode to wipe cache then wipe data/factory reset.
Please note that installing the BTU firmware will stop you from accessing Vodafone Wifi calling over the 4G network (VoLTE)
Hi thank you for qick answer phone is ready unlocked by code so next I will do is flashing with btu firmware
@greenman, I have been on BTU firmware (with BTU csc) and would like to install the XEU firmware..how do I get the XEU CSC? I flashed the XEU fW via odin and then automatically rebooted...skipped through the initially setup and then booted into recovery to factory wipe but the phone went back to BTU...how do I get XEU csc...please help
As XEU and BTU are in the same firmware you cannot change to an XEU csc code.Quote:
Android will always pick the one that exists - BTU.
So if I was on BTU, and wanted to change to XEU software, because the CSC code would revert to BTU would I still receive OTA updates?
First of all there is no advantage in installing the XEU firmware if you have BTU marshmallow.Quote:
But to answer your question, if you were on BTU marshmallow and you wanted to change to XEU marshmallow, the firmware would install without using a PIT file, and android would select from the list of CSC's available.
This list contains XEU and BTU and so BTU would be selected as it matches what is already on the phone.
Hello guys you might say I am a nooby but i have S6 Edge and I am from Cyprus
Cyprus officially have MM, however my CSC is TPH (I dont know why)
I want to flash [ Login above or register to see download links. ]
What i need to do? My warranty will be ok? Will my IMEI be deleted? Am I going to have any other problem during or after the flashing?
Thank you for your time
hello
TPH is the OXX multi CSC ( BGL CYO ETL MET MSR ORX ROM SEB SEE SIO TEB TOP TPH TSR TWO XEF XEH XEO ) firmware
CYV - Cyprus (CytaVoda) is a branded firmware made by Vodafone ( VFG )
if you want to flash this firmware:
save all your data
download VFG pit file:
SM-G925F VFG multi CSC ( ATL AVF CNX CYV MOB MTL OMN SIM SWC TCL VD2 VDC VDF VDH VDI VGR VIP VOD )
ZEROLTE_EUR_OPEN_HIDDEN200M.pit
[ Login above or register to see download links. ]
flash ZEROLTE_EUR_OPEN_HIDDEN200M.pit + CYV firmware
like this firmware is an updated original Samsung firmware you will not loose your IMEI and warranty
regards
Nooooooo! Do not do that.Quote:
Your firmware is for open europe and you can install the XEF firmware and keep your TPH code.
No pit file required.
The firmware you wanted to install is full of Vodafone branding:
Install instructions here:

NOTE: No pit file required.
I didnt know that it was a branded firmware!!!! On the list all branded firmware were in (). This was not. Are you sure is branded? If that so is it advised to install a uk rom (unlocked) even though its not my country for ex [ Login above or register to see download links. ] which I guess will be one of the first to update every time? Will I be faceing other problems after that?
What CSC Should I use if I flash?
When choosing firmware you also need to look at the CSC.Quote:
The 3 letters after the model name give the game away.
Product code [ Login above or register to see download links. ] PDA G925FXXU3DPB8 CSC G925FVFG3DPB8
VFG is a Vodafone code.
You could install that, but if you would like marshmallow, the France XEF is the firmware you are waiting for if in any European country.Quote:

It is exactly the same as you will get on your Portugal TPH code.
Please read post #27 again.Quote:
Follow install instructions to install XEF marshmallow.
Your CSC code will remain as TPH.
So I would still receive OTA updates no problem?
Your phone would still be original - on its TPH csc code, so there would be no problems with OTA updates.Quote:
Although my preference is for SmartSwitch and Odin - much better than OTA's.
EDIT: Didn't spot you had broken into this:p thread, so ignore the TPH reference if not applicable.
Yes greenman but i cant find any XEF firmware just UK XEU.
Edit: Flash with or without PIT?
Yes, my mistake the XEF firmware is on the G920F not your phone.Quote:
But same difference as we say.
Flash the XEU firmware as in instructions.
You do not need the PIT .
Thank you very much greenman! MM time!!! Hope all goes well
Thanks! Just about to flash now, running beta 6.0.1 but wanted official version.Quote:
I know, I am currently running the beta, now switching to the XEU official release.
@greenman, my g920f is currently on OLB csc, i believe it's from Malaysia so i'm not sure if it's XME underneath OLB. can you please suggest which firmware i can use to upgrade via odin and still retain OTA in the future.
Currently, only Thailand has 6.0.1 with OLB csc, so can i flash this without doing a cache/data wipe in recovery?
Lastly, is there a way to retain OTA if I flash firmware from another region? for example BTU?
thanks @greenman! :D
