The safest way to update your firmware is with Kies.
The next safest is to know exactly the Product Code and firmware on your Tab.
For that, install this app:

No reason why it should be.
Do you have a good network signal?
If not, there is little you can do to improve your 3G except to try another network.

My Wifi connection is very fast and work very well
In my phone android samsung SIII network signal 3G is good

WiFi has nothing to do with mobile data, but having a good mobile data connection is important.
To get anywhere near a decent data link. you should have H or H+ signal.
What is yours?

If you have H signal, then your mobile data is almost as good as it gets.

Can you connect to any Internet site?
What about Sammobile?

Check date and time zone is correct for Play Store.

Sir, I'm using galaxy tab 3 (SM-T111) - I find that wifi is finding it tough to WIFI connections despite the presence of connectable wifi in the vicinity. What can be the problem? Can someone suggest me a remedy.

Finding it tough or not connecting at all?
Is your Tab 'looking' for a wifi connection?
Does it 'find' any at all?
Can you turn router off then on again?

at times it do connect it. But doesn't hold firm and got disconnected soon. It does find the network. I've tried turning on/off the router too. But it doesn't help. Thanks

This may be a problem of a crowded spectrum.
If you install a wifi analyzer app you can find which frequency band you should be connecting to to get the strongest signal.

In Settings > Wifi > long press on your wifi connection > modify network config > show advanced options >IP settings > Change from DHCP to Static
