Do you have a GT-P5210 and are trying to activate 3G?

Do you have a GT-P5210 and are trying to activate 3G?

Could you help me? I'm (manually) updating my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (8.0) SM-T310.

When I connect to my computer (Windows 8.1 w/Update), there's nothing that pops up at all. I'm figuring it must be the USB drives that may be outdated or something.

When I go to Download Mode on the tablet after turning it off to turn onto DM too, nothing downloads -- or do you have to manually get Odin when in Download mode?

Like I said, I need help. lol If I get past the Download mode part and being able to transfer the new OS (4.4.2) updates onto the tablet, I'll be golden.

I've already enable 'Developer Mode' through the 'About device' by tapping 'Build Number' 7 times in the Settings, and then enabled 'USB debugging', connected the tablet and then...nothing. Nothing pops up in my USB manager dock.. nothing!

Sounds like your first problem is getting the PC to recognise your tab.
You are right, in that the USB drivers have to be installed.
Do this either by installing Kies and connecting your Tab:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/

Or install drivers from this download :

If problems, with Tab connected, check in Windows Device Manager for errors.

Odin install here:

Done. I've done everything and I finally updated to 4.4.2 quite successfully. Odin is a big help! Oh, and it turns out it was my cord for my tab that went to crap. Luckily I had another cord sitting around to try and connect it to my PC.

Yes, the USB lead is often the problem, especially if not an original.
Pleased all worked out. ;)

I'm thinking of putting out a thread to help others with exactly how I did mine in updating the tablet.. just a thought.

If you make a separate thread with the heading 'How to....' then I will make it into a stickie.
Thank you :)
