Verizon releases April 2019 security patch for the Galaxy Note 9

The Galaxy Note 9 started receiving the April 2019 security patch update last week in several markets across the globe. The latest security maintenance release is now being rolled out for this device by Verizon. The largest mobile carrier in the United States has now released the April 2019 security patch for the Galaxy Note 9.

Verizon is rolling out this new firmware update for the Galaxy Note 9 over-the-air. It’s going to take some time before the OTA download is available for all of its customers with the Samsung phablet.

Verizon Galaxy Note 9 gets April 2019 security patch

The April 2019 security patch brings fixes for a handful of critical and high-risk vulnerabilities discovered in the Android operating system. It also patches 15 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. These are the vulnerabilities that were discovered in Samsung’s own software.

Verizon is rolling out firmware version N960USQS1CSD1 for the Galaxy Note 9 on its network. It doesn’t bring much in the way of new features as the update is meant to apply the latest security maintenance release only. As previously mentioned, it may take a while before all users get this update. The firmware in question is already available for download from our database.

Other carriers in the country may soon follow suit now and release the April 2019 security patch on their networks as well.
