Along with making TVs focused on smart features and picture quality, Samsung’s lineup also boasts a couple of lifestyle TVs, The Frame and the Serif TV, that prioritiz design over everything else. These home décor-focused TVs, unfortunately, came with LED panels that put them at a disadvantage in terms of picture quality when compared to Samsung’s QLED offerings.

Though Samsung launched new Frame TVs with design and feature improvements in July this year, they still lacked QLED panels. Thankfully, the company is finally fixing this glaring drawback in 2019. Samsung has announced new Frame TV and Serif TV models for 2019, and they all come with QLED panels and smart TV features similar to other mainstream Samsung TVs.

    QLED brings better picture quality

Other than packing QLED tech and adding all the latest Samsung smart TV features like Bixby voice control, it appears Samsung hasn’t made any drastic changes to its new lifestyle TVs. The addition of QLED ensures better picture quality with deeper blacks and more contrast, bringing these TVs on par with other mainstream Samsung models.

Samsung is also bringing more artworks to The Frame Art Store, as reported previously. The Serif TV, which was an even more niche offering than The Frame and sold mostly in furniture shops, will be more widely available in 2019 at various consumer electronics retailers.

Both the new models will be on display in the large lifestyle TV exhibition zone of Samsung’s booth at CES 2019 in Las Vegas next month.

“The traditional TV was only focused on technical features, such as picture quality and performance, but now TVs are also a lifestyle platform that blends in consumers’ daily life. This year’s models of The Frame and SERIF TV are enhanced lifestyle TVs that deliver a TV experience like nothing before,” said Jongsuk Choo, Executive VP of Samsung’s Visual Display Business.
