Here’s the Galaxy Note 7’s retail box confirming the device’s specs

When rumors of the Galaxy Note 7 began earlier this year, they painted a pretty picture as far as the specs of the phablet were concerned. From a larger display to 6GB of RAM, we heard it all, until it turned out that the Note 7 wouldn’t be a quantum leap in terms of hardware. We pretty much know all of the specs of the Note 7 at this point, and a leaked picture of the device’s retail box is now offering confirmation of everything we have heard.

The Galaxy Note 7 has 4GB of RAM like the Galaxy Note 5, but on the storage front we get 64GB out of the box and microSD expansion (there might even be a 32GB variant for some markets, although that has not been confirmed). The phone is water-resistant with an IP68 rating like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and shares specs like a 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, octa-core Exynos processor (apparently the Exynos 8890 instead of an 8893), and Cat .12 LTE connectivity. The screen remains the same size at 5.7-inches, but as we all know, it is now an Edge display and a regular flat-screen version does not exist.

Other specs of the Note 7, which the box doesn’t mention, include a 3,500 mAh battery, an iris scanner, USB Type-C port, the S Pen stylus (which is said to work underwater), and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Stay tuned for more details later today as the Note 7 gets announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event in New York.

Looks like i’ll be waiting for V20

Was thinking of upgrading my Note 4 as nearly out of contract but might now wait for S8Edge hopefully with 4K (For VR) and Snapdragon 830. Only thing that I do like the sound of over S7Edge is the UFS Memory card, but that is not confirmed. any other contenders for a top of the range phablet coming up?

Or project valley of course, if samsung can get that out in 2017 that will be a game changer

I’m waiting for the note 8 , my note 4 is the best phone out there for me……

florox

well, i had the Note from series 1 to 4, just because it was the most powerful smartphone at the moment, but i never used the stylus more than to see how it works. Then, although i wasn’t convinced about ghe edge screen, because of the distorted image, i had the S6. I learned that I can live with the altered image, instead the apparent and physical look of the phone is a huge gain, being more thin, not to mention the positive surprise reaction from others while look at the phone… Got to the S7 as a natural come… Read more »

i don’t believe on past leak picture all over talking about iris scanner and USB-C..

as far i think box look pretty real to me and the most important new future called iris scanner are not even mention on the box— is that not strange..?

any way we all find it out sooner or later today..

Just get the s7 edge guys. Same specs mostly and a possible battery downgrade, so it will not last as long as the s7 edge, which is now cheaper!

AmazingAura01
AmazingAura01

Well, let’s look on the bright side. The S7 edge will most likely not be that cheaper as one might expect.

You get 64gb out of the box, it’s a new device, so more frequent updates and you get a stylus as a bonus.

Not much of an upgrade but… it’s there?

moogaloo
moogaloo

I have not noticed frequent upgrades when buying the latest phone, in fact Note 4 was one of the last phones to get an upgrade

Very disappointing with those specs. Why should I pay a lot of money for things the same with note 5 and s7edge?!?!?!

Samsung is killing the Note series to promote the S series

To me the curve screen that’s great but 5.7 inches is too small,
5.9 would have made more sense, it’s about time we add good front facing speakers , ie like the zte axon 7 ,,

Believe me when I tell u 5.7 is the perfect size for phablets edged or flat

It maybe “perfect” for you. But you don’t speak for me, or for anyone else at all.

I really think they should have made a flat screen variant too.
For sure there is people who likes to use the pen and for them it may be worth to pay the extra price over an S7 edge.
But there also is a lot of people like me who choose the Note serie for their (large) screen size and don’t care for the pen.
So at this point, as I have to give up the flat screen anyway (as the 5.1″ S7 is too small), why should I spend a lot more for a Note 7 instead of picking an S7 edge?

if this is true all i see there is a s7 edge+

“the S Pen stylus (which is said to work underwater)”
Wow! Really?
I was waiting for all of my life to be able to dive and take notes!!!
These articles that justify the lack of improvements, last year about N5 and now N7, make me think even more these articles are well paid and not my piece of cake anymore. Partiality everywhere.

If not qualcomm 821 or 823 or upgraded to 8893 or 8895 then bye bye samsung … what the worth of 6 month old processor and 1 yr old same RAM when you are paying a very huge price …

Got my S7 on Saturday. So far it seems that that was the right decision. I did it purely because of the flat screen. Don’t like the curved design. And I haven’t used the S-Pen in the last 2 years on my Note 4.

All worried fans for lack of 6GB & 4000 mAh battery: ***We have seen that the 6GB doesn’t make any difference to performance rather it screws up the battery life (eg One Plus 3). ***Also take into account the 3500mAh is a 500mAh is a significant increase over the same dimension Note 5; also Note7 has an even more efficient processor. Also, they need to optimize the phone size so as to be comfortable enough for a large set of audience. ***S7 Edge may seem closer in specs to Note7, that’s because the cash cow S series has been improved… Read more »

if this is real deal i will be frustrated
i mean seriously sammy
same ram as s7 s7 edge note 5 and s6 edge +
same screen size since note 3
less battery size from s7 edge even the screen 0.2 inc larger
same chipset as s7 and s7 edge
same camera as s7 and s7 edge

so tell us how you plan to sell note 7 then

Let’s hope this is still a hoax (rumor). Cause it is TOO EARLY to be able to lay hands on this. Is it just the dummy’s box? WHere is the screen size and resolution (it is always on the box). Or the battery? Fingers crossed for a few hours…

I’m still holding out for 8893 🙂
