Samsung Electronics Malaysia has decided to help Malaysian consumers by offering a “personalised pick-up service,” according to Lowyat. Consumers who don’t have a repair center nearby can call the designated number and arrange for their device(s) to be picked up and taken in for repair. A seven-point inspection check will be required in order for your device to be repaired, and the company will test battery life, Wi-Fi, and other factors before agreeing to fix your device.
The additional year of extended warranty offered by Senheng Malaysia should come in handy for a few privileged customers, but the Samsung Malaysia’s new pick-up service will make good use of the 1-year manufacturer warranty guaranteed by the company.
The repairs required for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will be free for GS6/S6 edge owners for the first year (or second year, if you’re the lucky recipient of the extended warranty), but any repairs needed after the warranty expiration will require an out-of-pocket cost.
Samsung’s going out of its way to meet customers where they are, but, then and again, isn’t this a part of every winning strategy in consumer electronics?
