Galaxy S5 mini could be called Galaxy S5 Dx, shows up on Samsung’s website

Is Samsung following a new naming scheme for their spin-off devices? The Galaxy S5 zoom was launched as the Galaxy K zoom, and now, an image of the Galaxy S5 mini taken from Samsung’s UK website suggests that the phone will be launched as the Galaxy S5 Dx. It certainly seems like a good move, as it would help reduce the disappointment many feel when buying these devices going on the fact that they’re named after the company’s flagship product, and also give these devices an identity of their own.

Leaked by evleaks, the site listing in the image is for the SM-G800, which is the model number for the S5 mini. As you can see, the design is pretty similar to that of the Galaxy S5, though Samsung seems to have added a few sporty color choices. Also noticeable is the lack of a heart rate sensor at the back, which isn’t surprising since we’re looking at a mid-range phone. The leaked image doesn’t show any specs, but thanks to our insiders, we are already aware that it will sport a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED 720p display, a quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2,100 mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat.

If this is indeed the Galaxy S5 mini we’re looking at, then it suggests that an official announcement could be made very soon, though details on exact launch dates and pricing continue to elude us.

Better than Galaxy S4 mini if they give 16 GB memory, but I am sure it will be like the yunior, overprice.
