The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition is a dream come true for everyone wanting a Samsung tablet with a high-resolution display (the Nexus 10 doesn’t count as it isn’t available everywhere, and also because it doesn’t have some of Samsung’s unique software features). Sporting a 2560 x 1600-pixel resolution, it looks like the new 10.1 Note’s display will be extra bright as well, as Samsung has reportedly used an LCD display with a PenTile RGBW pixel arrangement.

Don’t worry, the words PenTile here don’t mean you’ll have a less sharp and clear display, as PenTile RGBW consists of the standard red, green, and blue subpixels. However, there’s also a W, or white, subpixel added in between the standard subpixels, which is devoid of any color filtering and simply exists for letting the backlight come through. The result? A display that is around 30 percent brighter than usual, while consuming the same or lower power than RGB displays (the latter in the Note 10.1’s case).

Looks like the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition won’t disappoint anyone when it comes to the display quality, and for the high-end hardware it carries, we wouldn’t want it any other way. Right?
