Samsung dumped better Galaxy S 4 prototypes for cheaper version

The insiders of SamMobile directly started mailing to us after the announcement of Samsung. They are unhappy because Samsung created that much prototypes so they got confused. First of all he wants to say sorry for the misinformation but this is not everything! Our insider reported Samsung chose for the cheapest Galaxy S 4 prototype.

Samsung chose for the full polycarbonate version with corners of metal and Super AMOLED display which has a sort of Pentile structure!

Samsung dropped the version of plastic with the corners of metal / aluminium and PHOLED display with RGB structure!

There was also a full metal version but this version couldn’t make trough the first round. Which directly hints to that Samsung completly ISN’T ready to build full metal devices. Which is sad for a lot of people. According to our insider the Galaxy S 4 is easy to build like the way Samsung chose to do so. The premium feeling is totally gone because of the missing metal / aluminium materials.

In the release news of the galaxy s4, when asked about the matrix, your employee said:

“2 RGB = PHOLED PENTILE = AMOLED.”

So which one is it. Does it use PHOLED or not?

I think pholed was meant to be much brighter than normal AMOLED. However some previews of the s4 mention that it has the same brightess as an s3/N2 (258lux s4 vs 240lux N2). So I do not think that s4 has a pholed display.

Thanks

That is very dissapointing for me. I’d like to have some clarification though from sammobile as they give contradicting information.

I’m not regret loosing PHOLED. If it really has non-Pentile RGB pixels then it’s not good actually. Wait, don’t start to blame me quickly. I can explain why. OLED (and PHOLED of course) has big issue with BLUE sub-pixels’ life time. It’s fade much quicker (10 times quicker!) than red or green. So, unless new technology for blue sub-pixel come, blue should have bigger size comparing to other 2 sub-pixels. So, pentile is a good solution for OLED displays today. I have SGSII with true RGB pixels of AMOLED and now it has greenish tint (but was ok when i’ve… Read more »

I have the same SII as you and don’t notice any worsening of colors. but see difference between my device and SIII. i don’t like pentilish type of SIII

That may be unliked by many people but for me it is good as price not going to be high like iDevices.Think you are getting so many features still cheaper than iphone5 .I would love to spend more money on features rather than design. But S3 design was also awesome

DannyD,
you said “Samsung chose for the full polycarbonate version and Super AMOLED display which has a sort of Pentile structure!

Samsung dropped the version of plastic with the corners of metal / aluminium and PHOLED display with RGB structure!”
could you elaborate on whether either or both of these pentile or RGB structures use oled green material? Thanks.

I’m afraid Tablet Z of Sony will be better as a tablet, but then again I’m not a big fan of tablets in general 😉

Is this true!?

Not ready for all metal? Look at the 7.7. Beautiful tablet, all metal.

It really DOESN’T have to be all metal. The Sony Xperia line has a nice rubber coated back plate. Reminds me of the Lenovo Thinkpad series.

The only thing that matters is the overall look. Sorry Samsung but the Soap bar shape has to go. Very ugly.

Can’t wait for Lenovo to release it’s phone to the US. Way better than what everyone else has to offer.

Don’t forget that all these full-metal cases have non-removable battery.
I prefer to have plastic case but with removable battery. This is must-have feature for me.

Is this whole metal x plastic crap ever going to stop? Samsung likes plastic, deal with it and shut the hell up…..if it was that important people wouldn’t buy these phones…..but they do, a lot!

Sry, Note is simply TOO. BIG.

Saving pholed and other premium features for Note 3 😉 wait

i would want to think that but the screen itself will not save a device. i can’t believe how they went about the presentation with this device. it was horrible. i don’t like the s4 to much either. i was expecting idk…something different

I am looking forward to the note 3…I just hope build quality is better i.e. more robust. I am also hoping for 3gb Ram which I think is necessary because of the 1080p display.

The sides are metal, aren’t they?

Samqra

No, thats why the insider was upset!
the new s4 will be completly plastic (polycarbonate) because samsung wants to easily mass produce it!

PLANET

If that is true, I am not optimistic. Crash tests on S III were tragic – mostly due to the glass AND the sides (also, the back near the camera) breaking even BY ITSELF, even when used carried the phone IN A CASE. Yes, you’ve read it right. Now let’s just hope Samsung won’t make the same mistake again, cos Note II actually WAS better quite a lot in this department. I for one don’t care that much for “premium” look (it looks quite allright on the photos here), as long as it doesn’t drop below a certain point of… Read more »

I think that the insider was drunk, as I see everywhere on other websites, the sides are metal.
