The Galaxy Note 10.1 has landed!

Okay guys its official the Galaxy Note 10.1 has landed! This morning Samsung has unveiled a 10.1 inch version of their Galaxy Note which is running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with their Touch UI. As the name is saying it has a 10.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Samsung used a PLS TFT screen which we know from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 which they introduced last year. The Galaxy Note 10.1 has a 1.4 GHz dual core processor, its unclear which processor they used but most likely its a Exynos processor.

Besides a fast processor and a slightly different design you may think what is the advantage of the Galaxy Note 10.1 over the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 that Samsung announced yesterday, well the advantage is the S Pen. We know the S Pen from the original Galaxy Note but with the 10.1 version Samsung is taking it to the next level as they will also included some interesting apps like: S Note for drawings and taking notes etc and 2 apps from Adobe, Photoshop Touch and Ideas. Photoshop Touch can be used for editing photos and Ideas can be used for making professional sketches, both apps are optimized for using it with the S Pen and are exclusive preinstalled on the Galaxy Note 10.1

Samsung’s slogan for the Galaxy Note 10.1 is that it can take the productivity to a next level, because of the larger screen, fast and powerfull processor and the additional preloaded apps.
Samsung has also improved the sensitivity and the accuracy of the S Pen and is pointing out that writing with the S Pen feels like writing with a normal pen.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 10.1 in Q2. The price is not disclosed (yet).

This makes the Tab 10.1 seem utterly pointless…This is essentially the same thing but with the addition of the S-pen and extra apps.

Samsung need to stop releasing so many devices that do the same thing, it’s getting ridiculous. They should take a leaf from Apple’s books, and create “one world” devices – not multiple versions of the same thing!

Also, does this still double as a phone like the original Note, or is it purely a tablet?

Forgot to mention the proprietary USB connector – with the need to use its cable for computer connection instead of a standard microUSB…

Why??

ICS might work fine with small device but not with Tablet. Keyboard still crap. Come on tidy up the details this is unexceptable.

opimize beat me to it! You are dead on. I have seen the vdo and Sammy you guys are pathetic. May be if you really need help with UI you should consult iOS5? The Note lag as usual, whar is new?

OPTIMIZE the S-Note app. That is so LAGGY.

Not trolling, just check the videos. The moment there is a lag, it looks so pathetic.

OPTIMIZE the interface. Specs only matter to geeks, normal people just need a proper working smooth interface.

That S Note app is very noble idea, and very attractive. This can by itself change the Tablet world. But for heaven’s sake OPTIMIZE it.
