i617 rogers blackjack 2 issues reading port to get codes [Waiting for user]

I have the proper drivers and the comport is seen but i cant get the unlock codes or get srs to unlock my phone. What am i doing wrong?

What is your SRS Username ?
What error you get ?
What cable you use for unlocking ?

My username is SRS025478, I am using the cable that came with my phone and the error I am getting is as follows:



Communication Error: PCOM001

Possible Causes:
- Wrong port selected. (press RESCAN)
- Samsung Drivers not installed
- Phone not in PC-Studio mode

Also check when your using a serial cable, if there is an connector for a 9 volt battery on the cable, in that case you MUST connect the battery to the cable (red/black wire with clip)

Remark: Sometimes the modemport is not detected correctly, then you have to set this port manually

I didn't need a special cable. There was a setting for debugging in the service mode that had to be turned off. I found the information by looking at other issues with the same error. Although my service menus are different from the resolution I found I was able to apply the solution and my phone was unlocked a few minutes later. Thanks!!! Now I just need a dl site for windows mobile to upgrade it.
