    Ok.
Download this firmware [ Login above or register to see download links. ]
Extract it in folder on your pc. Inside you will find 3 files.
    Open Odin and mark re-partition.
    In Pit select GT-I8160_EUR_XX_4G.pit
    In PDA select CODE_GT-I8160_I8160XXLK6_CL1211243_REV00_user_SEC_KEY_LK6_ 4G.tar.md5
    In CSC select CSC_GT-I8160-MULTI-CSC-OXELF1_SEC_KEY_4G.tar.md5
This is how must look Odin:
Press start and wait to finish installation.
If everything is ok, you will have 2.3.6 Russian firmware. After that you will be able to flash any 2.3.6 firm from here.
I'm not responsible for any damage or if you brick something, but i use this way to downgrade to GB.

    Odin shows it is done
n when my fne restarts it just shows the start up name of the fone and hangs at the same
    plzz help

have you installed your firmware successfully?
Are you now stuck in a bootloop?
If so, can you get into Recovery mode?

If you can, Clear cache and reboot.
If this doesn't help, then go back into Recovery mode and Clear Data/factory reset.

    Recovery Mode:
Press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together.
Perform Wipe data/Factory Reset as well as Wipe Cache Partition before selecting reboot system now function.
In recovery mode you can use Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select an option.

It can be tricky getting into recovery mode.
Did you press and hold all 3 buttons?

I would prefer that you dial *#1234# to give your phone details, but in the absence of that, can you confirm that you have an unlocked phone - so not locked to Globe, Smart or Sun.

    If so:
Open Philippines XTE Firmware link for i8160 here:

In some cases you have to use VOL-UP+PWR button and quickly press MENU button as soon as you see the "Out-of-the-box" logo to get it in recovery mode...
...You don't like my opinion? Wait until you hear the ones I keep to myself...
