It was back in early August that Samsung announced a partnership with BlackBerry that would see the latter's BlackBerry Messenger app for Android make its way to Samsung's devices in Africa, and now a report claims the app will be released as soon as this Friday. BBM will be integrated into Samsung's messaging hub, though it should be available separately via the Play Store as well.

BBM is extremely popular in Africa, one of the few markets where BlackBerry still has a large user base. Samsung recently started marketing BBM in the country, and it looks like Friday is the day the app will finally be released, after months of leaks and rumors surrounding it.

Any of you interested in using BBM, or have you (and your friends) moved on to other services like WhatsApp and aren't planning to do more than just give BBM a one-time spin?
