USPTO invalidates Apple’s rubber-band scrolling patent

US Patent Office has taken a lot of flak for granting some absurd patents but today it has been revealed the office has done something that not many imagined of – invalidate an Apple patent! Ok, this is just a tentative invalidation but at least a first step.

The patent in question is patent no. 7,469,381 that pertains to the rubber-band scrolling where USPTO managed to find some evidence of prior art.

This patent is also one the key patents in the Apple-Samsung trial.

I really hope that this patent case will be thrown out, and the two giants told to compete in the market, and not through litigation. I am sure Samsung will emerge a clear winner.

Wont be surprised to see Samsung Filing a Billion $ Defamation Case against Apple for tarnishing their image and trying to take them out of market.

Has any other phones got the same rubber band effect? Why is not Apple sue Google since they own Android.
