Statement regarding this week’s downtime and registration problems

Dear visitors of SamMobile,

at the moment the traffic on our website is very high. There are some minor bugs in our system which might cause some errors or a small downtime. We hereby want to apologize for this inconvenience.

SamMobile is currently experiencing a very large growing in its memberbase. This is because of the high amount of Samsung users these days, and all latest news from the last few months. Since 3 months ago, we have begun splitting our infrastructure onto multiple servers, one for the website and one for all the firmware-related things. Unfortunately, the website server is experiencing a very heavy load when an interesting news article is posted, which might cause some downtime. It usually is for just a minute and might occur up to 4 times an hour when the glitch is starting. We surely do understand that this is inconvenient, especially when login or registration is failing due to this. We are trying to solve this problem as soon as humanly possible, so please rest assured that we are working on it! (and if needed, we will invest in even more servers to process the larger userbase)

If you have any other problems then mentioned above, please post it in the comments below and if it is very important, mail me directly at admin [at] sammobile [dot] com.

We would like to also use this opportunity to inform you about our (near) future plans regarding SamMobile 2.0.
We hope to release this new version of the website around December this year with a lot of extra’s for the members!

Fixing the current problems with the site is now our highest priority, together with our other staff working on the new site.
Yesterday I (admin) have implemented several layers of caching, which are in testing phase right now, which is why we need your feedback in case of problems.

Thanks for all of your feedback and understanding,
SamMobile Team

After logging in on the firmware site I often got a blank page last times, but just had to press Enter in the address field and everything works fine – so not that frustrating ;)
