HOT: Samsung start Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update
Samsung has just started with rolling out the first official Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy S III.
The first Jelly-Bean Android 4.1.1 update is for Poland!
The firmware is: PDA I9300XXDLIB CSC I9300OXFDLI1 MODEM I9300XXDLIB
The Jelly Bean update will have a few enchantments like:
- Better performance, thanks to Project Butter it’s even smoother and faster
- Reorganized settings menu
- 2 Homescreen modes
- New Notifications bar
- Google Now
- Resizable Pop-up play screen
These are just a few enchantments, you’ll probably notice some more changements. Samsung will roll out the Jelly Bean update in more countries later this month. You can use KIES or OTA (Over-The-Air) to update to the latest version of Android. Make sure you’re on WIFI and that your battery is at least on 50%.
If you want to flash, you’ll need to download the firmware and use ODIN to flash.

Users will be achieved by Jellybean incrementally to avoid overloading of the servers according to Samsung. This means that about 10 000, the first and another 50 000 in a week. If this strategy succeeds, Samsung avoid the problems that Sony Ericsson is now Sony Mobile, had a few months ago when they updated their Xperiamobiler to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Jellybean will make Android faster thanks to “Project Butter” that makes menus floating on the “60 frames per second”, plus get tools to adjust their size automatically to the home screen and a more precise keyboard as Samsung themselves.
The update is released via Samsung Kies software and for those who prefer not to leave your computer and your phone mingle you can also download it wirelessly.
Google’s latest version of its operating system named Jellybean and should taste sweet for those who have used the Ice Cream Sandwich for a while. Samsung unveils Galaxy S3 is now in Sweden reached the update in October.

Downloaded and Installed here in South Africa no known issues thus far EXCEPT for one: When using GoLauncherEx long pressing to add widgets,apps etc causes a black screen for 3-5 secs. Annoying as hell am not sure if its a problem of the app not being fully compatible with JB or if its a firmware issue. Any thoughts?.This has persisted on all JB leaks i have previously flashed leading to today.

This is the first european official JB update…
Poland is probably the least heavy userbase in Europe… so it is all a matter of server load , so the upsate server doesn’t go down when every user tries to OTA their device.
If you want you can just use this FW on your I9300… it runs perfectly on my dutch device.

For all of those wondering if can run this update on their phones, Download the full file (+700Mb) then using Odin flash it, the file comes with all the languages and you are running stock ICS or JB you dont need to completely erase the device.
You will need however to re-apply the root on it.

After upgrading to Jelly Bean, I can’t connect to Kies anymore. I’ve seen another user has the same issue. Do you have any idea what may be causing this? I can’t perform a restore from my backup, which is damn annoying.

i download /installed it so far every thing is smooth not super but smooth i mean there is this bit of lag here and there but its like 50% less with this one . as for quadrant it gave me 5500ish a bit better than my note 10.1 with ICS . every thing works GPS is kinda slowish to the point i missed my turn few times but i was speeding
150kph . there is a bit of lag when opening the dialer other than that most of the programs that were laggy at now better and smoother but i would love it to be more smoother as it is a quad core phone ….

I just flashed it on my UK S3. No problems at all. I thought I would have to change the language settings but no, everything as before. Noticeable increase in speed when opening applications and moving through screens. Google voice search actually talks to me now too. I’ll let you know if I see anything strange.

I was very hesitant at first to dive on this firmware coz I’m from the phils. but when I did. Damn its really fast… Far better than the jb leaked… Browsing is very fast (even faster when I overclocked my device to 1.6ghz on li8) My sgs3 is not rooted now but it gives me a quadrant score of 5946. I wonder what would be the score if I’m going to overclocked it. Great firmware. Better battery life than jb leaked.

Hello Jelly bean is fast I have 2 complains 1 stronger 1 light:
Stronger complain : cannot see fullscreen photo and manually scroll , really, only fullscreen photo is in automatic presentation
All around photo is cutted space so display looks like 4“ not 4,8“ when scrolling manually photo, pls fix it Samsung and realease update for this issue in official release available also for Central Europe – Slovakia
More light complain: fonts and status bar on quick menu an home screen are bigger fonts using so it`s looking like less space, these big fonts are not necessary before it was very comfortable.
Anyhow my phone was informing about firmware update not Android system update In Kies otherwise I would stop to update it… pls fix photo fullscreen issue immediatelly , it`s so painfull an annoying that I loose happiness
From using my phone because I loose photo viewing a lot… I think all people will see this as issue,…

For those having problems with connecting to Kies after upgrading to this version of JB, note that you have an Unknown CSC (type *#1234#, and see it in there).
There are 3 options:
1) Try to change the CSC to XEO (didn’t work on my end as there’s no available CSC to choose from).
2) Wait for the BTU (UK) version to be released – They say by Monday, 1st Oct.
3) Revert back to ICS

Hello Everybody….I installed this version and works great, but for any unknown reason it lost all the dictonary words (predictive text words), so the predictive text is learning fron 0. I tried a full reset and reinstalling Android and the keyboard is in the same condition.
Could anybody help me with this?

Installed it on my i9300T, previously using I9300XXDLI8, all working flawlessly, and wickedly smooth… Well done Samsung… I would have like the scrolling background effect to return, without loading a 3rd party launcher…
“S Memo” is still “S Memo”… Don’t know if the Modem is compatible, but so far no communication issues… Contacts a bit laggy, but I can live with it…

Samsung fixes the security hole and gives the final jelly-bean a better battery life, because that is very bad. Overnight and 17% a day keeps the battery. Under ICS almost 3 days. Otherwise, the final runs very smooth … easy jerks with Nova Launcher but not nearly falls on, speed when opening the apps, load times could be even better suited to thank …

I am using AIS in Thailand, but i have tested it on DTAC and True, and all works just fine…
FYI, when you flash the i9300T, you will see that your phone will become a i9300 (international) version… Kies displays it as an international Version as well… So, except for the Bootup Screen, it is now an International S3….

also issue 1. freezed gallery few times to me and drop with message to menu… , 2. I have one time completelly feezed menu with applications cannot click on whichever one, restart helps not before found in 2months on ICS, photo gallery fullscreen is disabled
, looking like many has to be fixed on Jelly bean

I install over stock 4.0.4 rom and really all right at first, but after using it a while I began to notice problems with launchers, graphical issues as transparencies widget in folders, do not know why. I did full wipes and went back to 4.0.4, I’ll try to do a full wipes before putting jelly bean then restore programs, see what happens

So….say I have the international version of the S3 with a branding by German Vodafone…Could I still just take the Polish update without the need to debrand my phone prior to that? How about the warranty? And last but not least…Some people reported they have troubles with Kies afterwards…how to get Kies work properly after the update? Thanks in advance for your answers.

1. There is an app called CSC Changer in Play Store, its for the S2 but works ok on the S3, apparently if you use this app to change CSC value to match the firmware then Kies will then work, but look into this more on XDA, it will also force a full wipe so you’ll need to backup all your data first.
2. In regards to warranty: I always download the original firmware, if the device ever needs repair I simply flash the original firmware, if you have changed the CSC, remember to change the CSC back to its original value.

Hello no fullscreen gallery photo is huge mistake, but dropping gallery 100X till 1week usage is massive issue, with message GALLERY Stopped working , interesting update, I haven`t this before
. and really I no need that much space for permanent bar showing status on top of screen battery signal 2g , 3g , wifi stripe showing these indications with time is more thick decreasing colourscreen left for using of phone, which is no improvement but unlike step, pls return to before size

Everything worked fine except that it did not detect the country code of my device, also it caused issues with wireless connectivity.
Had to flash the stock unbranded ICS 4.0.4 for South Africa back on to the phone.

I got sick and tired of waiting from Vodacom and Samsung South Africa to release. I downloaded the UK JB PACS and updated via Odin. Very happy to say that it installed perfectly and I have not found any issues…

All Jeallybean version has a Contacts and dialer LAG. try it. open the contacts or the dialer youll see a noticeable lag. no fix for that.
