New bada device(s) coming in first half of 2013?
A few days ago on Samsung’s Developer days at IFA, Samsung’s Senior Vice President of Media Solution Center, Kang-Hyun Kwon has said that they still support bada and that we can expect new device(s) in the first half of 2013!
The words of Kang-Hyun Kwon came as a suprise because the last few months you’ll probably have noticed that Samsung hasn’t released any new firmwares for the Wave 3 (bada 2.0 flagship device) and because of there were no signs that Samsung is working on the next version of bada. On the other hand Samsung has been working on Tizen and they have stated in the past that they were looking into merging bada and Tizen.
We expect that bada will merge with Tizen and that it will ‘return’ in a ’new uniform’ . Its unclear when Samsung will announce their new device(s) but the odds are pretty big that MWC 2013 will be right place for a annoucement…

Much too late. I left bada in favor of Android . . .

Same for me… It’s fun to have a new smartphone but it’s not fun to have an old and un-updated Bada 2 OS

Well if they’re gonna really merge Bada to Tizen, they better do it fast and proper. I’m just wondering if Sammy has enough brainpower combined in house (read:- devs) to pull that off. So far I’m only seeing slightly more enthusiasm from the orig MeeGo camp but even they can’t give a clear answer of how/who’s running the code base right now.
Personally I don’t think Samsung is doing such a good job on its main money making platform Android till now ffs, let alone to talk about merging something that’s still relatively experimental.

Well, it´s shame they still didn´t release Bada 2.0 for Wave 723. Support of their own software is very low. Luckilly Google updates Android itself.
