Samsung releases excluded evidence to undermine Apple’s infringement claims
Samsung has released some excluded evidence to press that tries to prove Samsung didn’t infringe on Apple’s patents. The evidence is referred to as “excluded” because Samsung was denied to put forth this argument and has unsurprisingly, made the judge livid. The evidence shows how Apple iPhone’s design was inspired by Sony and number of Samsung phones that were already in development prior to the launch of iPhone.
“The excluded evidence would have established beyond doubt that Samsung did not copy the iPhone design,” says Samsung in a statement.
Meanwhile, judge Lucy Koh has ordered lawyer representing Samsung to know who from the legal team gave an authority to release the evidence to the press.

I think Apple does it only to keep attention on their products trying to invent a new way of advertising. Even though suing other companies cost a lot of money, it might be cheaper than traditional way of advertising. Apple definitely pisses off more and more people every day doing this practice. Apple would be better off if they acquire a decent part manufacturer to lower down the costs of the components so they can offer their product for an affordable price instead of asking for 50% more money than other companies for a comparable product.
Imagine a law suit against Apple by all companies that had released a new style of computer before Apple did: a laptop.

Are Samsung going to get a fair trial, as the judge can change the result if she decides its wrong, what’s going on with that.
I really think that the case should have been held in a neutral country, where there are no vested interests.
I hope Samsung come out on top, that will drop apple down a peg or two. I wonder what Steve Jobs would think of the company he started playing those tactics.

@Rugratzz
“I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40bn in the bank, to right this wrong,” Jobs told Isaacson. “I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this.”
Steve Jobs
I think the company is only doing what he ordered to….

the problem with this trial is that judge Koh (being a Korean by birth) might punish Samsung for something they didn’t do to come across as credible. Otherwise people will just think she is biased if a Korean company is to win the trial.

Good Job SAMSUNG! I like both companies products but getting sick and tired of the suits. Just make good products and get on with it. The biggest question is why was this excluded in the first place. I hope the media turn around on the judge and say she’s obviously being biased, Evidence is evidence, why does the judge have the right to say something should be exceluded. Specially something as blatant as this that takes Samsung off the hook.
I have iPads, a Mac and an iPhone 4 and 4s (4 sits around doing nothing) so most people would say I’m an apple fan boy… I just like good products! My samsung S2 is my other phone, hopefully the S3 which I have ordered arrives tomorrow.

A joke or rumor circulating…
Apple has the patent of the Antikythera mechanism: A 2,000-year-old Greek computer (http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/blog/2008/dec/11/antikythera-first-computer) .
As it is considered the first computer, Apple will sue every computer manufacturer since then…
