Samsung unveils TecTiles Programmable NFC Tags

Samsung today unveiled TecTiles programmable NFC tags that can take advantage of the NFC technology incorporated in the devices. TecTile tags basically allow businesses and consumers to program the tag to perform a particular function. For instance, TecTile tags can be configured to do a FourSquare or Facebook check-in, send a specific text message, silence the phone, change the settings etc.

Samsung is now selling the TecTiles programmable NFC tags in United States since it has the largest installed base of NFC-enabled phones. The tags are priced at $14.99 for a pack of five.
