Browser performance of the latest bada 2.0 firmware for China (video)

A few days ago we posted an article about the latest bada 2.0 firmware (S8500ZCLB4/S8500OZCLB4) for China for the orginal Wave which Samsung had released just a few days ago. As you know there are some new features in this firmware such as: IP Calling, Data usage switch on or off in the tap-to-expand notification bar and the auto silent mode.

But there is more, according to LordFahrenheit from the Italian website: Styletechblog.com RAM usage is better optimized which you can see for example when you are using the browser. The browser in this new firmware is improved and more polished even that its still Dolfin 3.0. In previous firmwares (bada 1.0/1.0.2/1.2 and also 2.0) users would receive a  ’page to large’ popup when they are visiting some heavy websites, in this new firmware you still may receive this message but nothing will change after clicking ‘ok’ plus you won’t receive it often like in previous firmwares.

Below is a video which is made by LordFahrenheit were you can see the browser performance of this new firmware!

Special thanks to LordFahrenheit for notifying and making the video!

In wave 3, I saw ‘send to Caster’ option. How can we get that option? is it available in any FW?

Maybe the fact that Speech recognition & Speech out is not in this ZCLB4 is also leading to a better performance, even generally spoken . . . . . . . . ?
I find this FW very smooth :-)

I don’t think so… Probably the people of Samsung really putted in the bada a better memory manager… But i hope that in the next versions they put too a better task manager, maybe a android alike, and it will be good if they put the “lil’ task manager” through the hold menu function with a possibility to go to the “adv. task manager”… Also will be good if they put a “slide to..” in the task manager.. to see the memory usage of the app, a “play/pause”, auto for some apps and a “force” option, and a “save” function, which save your position of your app like the fruit ninja which you can close the app and come exactly where you let the app… (play/pause will be like the WP multi-task, which looks like you pause the app and don’t use a lot of memory until you come back to the app…)
    I’m hoping too much….

    loooooooooooooooooooool
I tried all what he did on my own custom XXLB2 and guess what….I never saw page too large and i never closed the app to free cache & cookies :D

I’d simply ask that reviewer to open just one site
    http://www.as.com
and let’s see if his wave will survive from it :D

    Best Regards

http://www.as.com? I tried it! No problem. No memory notifications, no closed widgets.
I’m using custom Nexus ZCLB4 on my Wave-I, + added some apps and a few games (internal).
Scrolling was not as fast and smooth as e.g. Google News, but not bad.
    I used 3G data connection.
Wanted to add some screen caps, but doesn’t work, can’t insert pictures here.

I think that this video doesn’t proof any improvement over previous bada 2.0 firmwares. I am using a custom version of KK7 firmware and i went to all websites shown in the video WITHOUT closing the browser and doing zooms and all this stuff and no ‘Page too large’ at all.

This just proves that Bada is really ancient, nothing compared to a Galaxy S with CM9 or AOKP.

Never seen such a laggy phone!

To mylove90 (we have already exchanged some msg in XDA, if you’re the same that’s there): I visited as.com and any error was showed. So.. yes, my Wave survive from it :)
To everyone who say “I’ve visited these sites with my old-****-*******-firmware” … just give me all the links of websites that make problems in your Wave (i’m sure you have some) and i’ll try them all. Then I’ll comment here if with this brand-new firmware (ZCLB4 and ZCLB4 Nexus-Custom) there are still error or simply a popup that can be ignored.
Thanks as always to Sammobile! :D
