Could the Galaxy Ace 2 be Samsung’s next mid range hitseller?

Samsung annouched the Galaxy Ace 2 along with the Galaxy Mini 2 just one week before MWC 2012. The Galaxy Ace 2 is positioned as a mid range device and the Galaxy Mini 2 is more a lower mid range device. We believe that the Galaxy Ace 2 has almost everything to become Samsung’s next hitseller for the midrange segment. Its has a powerfull 800 mhz Dual Core processor, 4GB of storage, with 768MB it has also enough RAM and it has also a pretty good screen, the size is 3.8 inch with a resolution of 800 x 480. The technology that Samsung used is PLS which we know from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Tab 8.9 and is known for wide viewing angles, brightness levels and contrast.

With a battery of 1500 mAh we shouldn’t expect too much, but on paper it should be enough for 2 days with moderate usage. The phone is also pretty thin just 10.5 mm and lightweight with just 122 gramm yes we know its not the thinnest and lightest phone that you can get but once again for a device in the mid range segment considering these specifications its pretty good especially when you are looking at other mid range devices from other vendors.

From what we could see on MWC was that all devices were running on Gingerbread, most likely is that the phone will also get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich but it will be launched with Gingerbread. Ice Cream Sandwich is already out for some time, but keep in mind that there are still some problems with it, in fact Google hasn’t even rolled it out for all version of the Nexus S! This may also be reason why Samsung is launching their latest devices with Gingerbread since they know that the software is more stable than Ice Cream Sandwich at this moment.

According to Samsung press release for the Benelux (Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg) the Galaxy Ace 2 should be available in Q2 for suggested retail price of 349 euro, we expect that the prices are about the same in other countries. As we all know with these MSRP is that they will drop a few euros once the device is launched.

Since yesterday you can pre-order the Galaxy Ace 2 in the UK for 249,98 ponds, which is about 299 euros. According to the web shop where you can place the pre-order they should have the device in stock by 23 April.

So what you do you think, is the Galaxy Ace 2 a perfect mid range device and will it be Samsung’s next hit seller in the mid range segment? Let us know by leaving your reaction in the comments.

This is just B.S. There is no problem with ICS. In fact ICS is now almost an yr old and all nexus phones are now on JB. Its shame that samsung is still churning out new phones with gingerbread.
